Blueberries have long been used for their nutritional and medicinal properties. They contain antibacterial compounds that fight off stomach bugs and antioxidants to prevent eye damage and improve both eyesight and memory. They also promote prostate health.
Blueberries are sweet in flavor and kids love them. Add spinach to this smoothie to make it even more nutrient dense. Choose baby spinach as it is sweeter than the larger ones, you won’t be notice you are drinking it!
- 1/2 banana, ripe
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries (preferably organic)
- 1/2 cup spinach
- 2 tsp honey (optional)
- 1/2 cup almond milk or coconut milk
- 1 cup ice
Add blueberry and milk or water and half of the ice to a vitamix or blender. Blend until combined then add remaining ice and blend until smoothie is well pureed.
