Kids Entrees at Chilis more 810mg or more of sodium, this is one meal! Recommendation is to split the meals for two, eat half only to reduce sodium

 

 

Better choices suggestions and recommended substitutions from kids’ meal:

 

  • Meals:
    • Grilled chicken platter- ask for it be cooked with light spices
    • Burger bites (half)
    • Grilled Chicken bites (half) – ask for it be cooked with light spices and light oil
    • Ancho salmon (split) -ask for it be cooked with light spices and light oil
    • 6 oz classic sirloin – ask for it be cooked with light spices and light oil
    • Corn Dog –  if you must
  • Sides:
    • Side corn on the cob
    • Side corn kernels
    • Side fresh pineapple
    • Side Mandarin oranges if fresh (not from can)
    • Side steamed broccoli
    • Celery Sticks w/o dressing –ask for a little bit of dressing on the side
  • Desserts:
    • Vanilla ice cream– if you must! but start getting your family used to not eating dessert. Their meal should suffice their appetite, and besides you get to save money!
  • Drinks:
    • Water – Make a habit to always order water for your kids
    • Juices – ask for freshly squeezed juice or 100% fruit, limit juice intake
    • Milk – ask for organic and/or low fat, limit or avoid milk intake
